Tuesday Letters: Dear Me.

Dear Me,

I'm thinking you are in need of some advice. Life is about to get really crazy, really soon. Summer is almost over (sad face) which means: Back to Work, Back to School, Back to Cheer, Back to Reality. I'd like to lend you some words of both advice and encouragement.

Work comes easy for you, but don't let that make you lazy. Write those lesson plans the week before, not the day of. Print your copies in advance. Be organized. BE organized. BE ORGANIZED!!!! Those kids depend on you in so many ways. Don't let that overwhelm you. You can't please everyone all the time. As long as you feel like you made a difference to even one, it can be written off as a successful day. I know at time the stress, pressure, and overall tasks at hand can really get you down. Try your best to stay positive. Always look for the light at the end of the tunnel, it will surely be there.

In just 10 days you will begin the journey to a Master's Degree! First of all, congratulations! This is a big deal and you should feel a sense of pride in this undertaking. Yes, it is going to be hard. Indeed, it is going to take time. But if I know you (which I think I do...) you will be able to manage just fine. You thrive in the field of studies. I've often times heard you say, "I wish I could have been a professional student as a career." Well, you have the next 15 months to enjoy it all over again! There will most likely be times when you will feel like an epic failure and want to give up all hope (dramatic much?), and that's ok. Just don't take it out on anyone else. Hmph**Johny**Hmph. And remember, this is only a stepping stone to the bigger picture. Doctorate status is not just a dream anymore. You are making it happen! And I know Dad is proud.

You can't hide the joy you find in coaching cheer anymore. So just stop trying. We all know you love it. Go Tigers!

Your new church calling is going to take you places you never thought possible. Enjoy the ride! Pray often for help in fulfilling your duties to the best of your ability. Be flexible. Be open-minded. Be understanding. Live worthy to receive inspiration in the things that will be of most benefit to those you work with. Most of all, HAVE FUN!

In just 2 short months you will be a "newlywed" of TWO years! This is huge. I can't even fully grasp this concept at current. Even greater than this, you will soon be sealed to your Husband in the Temple of the Lord. I hope that as you approach these momentous occasions you reflect on your role as a wife. You are married to a true Man of God. He is loving, patient, compassionate, hardworking, and most of all, he is crazy about you. I know that "being a house wife" is not your number one goal in life. With that being said, you are a wife, and you do reside in a home. Looking around right now I'm thinking we could do a little better than we have been. Strive to be a better wife each and every day, in each and every way. He deserves it.

Me, you are a pretty wise person. I know you are looking forward to each and every event that is headed your way. Unfortunately, they are all coming at once and that is A LOT! Pray often, be patient, stay calm, turn to your husband for priesthood blessing when the burden becomes too heavy. And always remember, I am rooting for you!

Love Always,
Mo
