Life Story

One of my college professors challenged our class to write our "life story" in less than 300 words. Here is mine in 263.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was born to a brave 15 year old girl with an amazing support system.

I was raised by the most loving and generous people who have ever walked this Earth.

At age 2 I began taking dance classes.

On my 16th birthday I was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma- a rare pediatric bone cancer. It was located in my left 6th rib. I spent the following year fighting for my life at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

On February 12, 2006 I walked out of PCH as a Cancer Survivor.

I began my bachelor's degree at NAU in the fall of 2007 as a poli-sci major and a member of the Dance Team. Shortly after I began I decided politics was not for me. Enter--journalism. Followed by, psychology. Leading me to Elementary Education.

Over the years I was in a couple of serious relationships that, looking back, were just preparatory for my dream come true.

Cancer reared it's ugly head again in the way of my Dad. I moved back home after graduation to be near him. This led to my first teaching job being at MY old elementary school!

I met an amazing man who loved me in all of my faults. We were engaged after 2 months. Married by 6.

Life took us to Laveen, AZ the following year where I taught 5th grade English Language Development. It was here that I really learned how to be a teacher.

Life brought me back home after the passing of my Dad. I now teach 1st grade and help my husband with his small business adventures.

We learned early on that we are #1in8. That is, 1 in every 8 couples who battle Infertility. We walked the fertility treatment path with out any result. We dove head first into an adoption that ultimately did not work out. We've opened our hearts and home to whatever God's plan is for us and our family. We are faithful in his promises to us.

I can't wait to see where life takes me next...
